RefComm® launches free eLearning webinar series for refining professionals

RefComm® is launching eRefComm®, an interactive online learning community for refining professionals in the downstream sector. The first of eRefComm’s free, interactive webinars will be held Thursday, April 9, 2020 at 11 am EST/10 am CST. The event, titled Understanding Coker Heater COT and TMT Measurement to Improve Your Unit Production, will focus on the delayed coking unit. The coker heater is the heart and soul of the unit. Our conversation will be centered around the two most important measurements in the heater: the Coil Outlet Temperature (COT) and Tube Metal Temperature (TMT). We will discuss the various locations, types, and failures that occur on these types of equipment. Come prepared with an understanding of your equipment and issues you have/have had so you can come away from this FREE interactive webinar with some ideas on how to increase your unit efficiency and overall ROI through improving these critical measurements.

Future webinars will focus on other delayed coking-specific topics as well as other core areas in the downstream sector, including the fluid catalytic cracking, resid hydrocracking, and solvent deasphalting units.

These events are designed to bring together the refining community in a time when we must practice social and professional distancing, while still gaining valuable insight in ways to improve safety, efficiency, and profitability in the unit. Now, more than ever, we need our community to support one another.  In this spirit, eRefcomm® will serve as a virtual event space for technical sharing and remote networking, modeled after our popular RefComm® breakout sessions. Every other week, we will have a new short topic and lively discussion centered around that topic.
