Axens to expand its sulfur abatement portfolio
Axens (Axens North America Inc) announces that it has on January 4th, 2016 entered into an Asset Purchase Agreement (APA) with Scutter Enterprises, LLC to purchase assets and technology related to sulfur removal products. Scutter, based in Chesterfield, Missouri, was created in 2009 and specialized in solid sulfur scavengers for gaseous and liquid streams. The terms of the APA will remain confidential.
Axens will reinforce its extensive adsorbent portfolio by the acquisition of these products previously manufactured and commercialized by Scutter Enterprises, LLC under the name of HydroCat. They will become part of Axens’AxTrap™ adsorbent product line.
These new adsorbents offer economically competitive purification solutions to processstreams containing moderate amounts of sulfur in applications such as landfill gas, biogas, associated gas or CO2 treatment.
With thesenew AxTrap™ products, the removal of sulfur compounds from methane and CO2 streams enables the utilization of these greenhouse gases with minimal environmental impact and thus confirms Axens’ commitment towards sustainable development.
Axens will retain all Scutter personnel to ensure continuity of service to existing and future customers.
“This acquisition offers many synergies and gives us a great opportunity to complement Axens’ portfolio of adsorbents. This extended product line is offering a cutting-edge solution to our existing and future customers. Thanks to Axens’ global commercial network, we expect a strong development of sales of these new AxTrap™ products in the North America and internationally” said Jean Sentenac, Chairman and CEO of Axens Group.
