Jacobs receives contract from Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc announced today it received a contract from Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (Takreer) for front end engineering and design (FEED) services for the Waste Heat Recovery Project at the general utilities plant (GUP) at Ruwais Refinery. The GUP, with a capacity of generating 650 megawatts of power and producing 14 million imperial gallons a day (MIGD) of water, serves the Ruwais Industrial Area and the residential complex located on the Arabian Gulf coast, approximately 240 kilometers from the city of Abu Dhabi.
Jacobs has been contracted to provide FEED services that focus on improving efficiency at the GUP to enhance power generation and water production, while reducing adverse environmental impacts. The additional power and water is expected to cater to the increased demand resulting from the on-going expansion of the Ruwais Industrial Area and residential complex.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Senior Vice President Mark Bello stated, “We are delighted to expand on our relationship with Takreer at the Ruwais Refinery and provide FEED services for the GUP. Our strength in front end project delivery combined with our team’s proven performance in power and water generation supports Takreer in the growth of this refinery.”
Jacobs is one of the world's largest and most diverse providers of technical, professional and construction services.
