PROSERNAT acquires breakthrough sulfur recovery technology SmartSulf™

PROSERNAT S.A. announced today the signature with Dr. Michael Heisel and Mr. Klaus Dieter Daun, the owners of ITS Reaktortechnik GmbH, of an agreement for the sale of 100 % of the shares of ITS to PROSERNAT. Through this acquisition, PROSERNAT will become the owner of the SmartSulf™ technology, developed and commercialized by ITS. This technology, based on the use of proprietary internally cooled Claus reactors, constitutes a breakthrough improvement of the traditional Claus process used for the recovery and conversion into saleable elemental sulphur of H2S from acid gas streams. The SmartSulf™ technology achieves high sulphur recovery levels (typically 99.5% +) with a limited number of equipment items and avoids the installation of costly tail gas treatment units downstream the Claus reactors. There are currently 11 references using this technology among which 4 are under design/construction, the others being in operation.
