Process Group selects Intergraph CADWorx 2014 plant professional
Process Group, a company of Degremont, Suez Environment Group, has selected Intergraph® CADWorx® 2014 Plant Professional to help deliver BP’s Shah Deniz 2 project. Located in the Caspian Sea region, Shah Deniz 2 is one of the largest natural gas field developments in the world at this time.
When complete, the project will be responsible for delivering 6 billion cubic metres per year of gas to Turkey, and an additional 10 billion cubic metres per year to markets in Europe. The current concept for Shah Deniz 2 includes 500 kilometres of subsea pipelines, which will link 26 gas production wells with the onshore terminal. Process Group executed the design for the project in Australia and the fabrication in the United Arab Emirates.
Process Group selected AutoCAD®-based CADWorx 2014 Plant Professional for its ability to deliver one of the major goals of the project – the allocation of unique part details to all piping components to integrate with finance and procurement systems.
“CADWorx 2014 Plant Professional offers a highly capable piping and structural solution at a cost-effective price,” said Paul Tautor, Process Group’s Senior Piping Designer. “Because the solution is AutoCAD-based, it offers exceptional flexibility and collaboration. The efficiency gains driven by the new and improved features have been outstanding.”
New and improved features include improved routing capabilities; quicker, more intuitive modifications; and more powerful component catalogues and piping specifications.
Gerhard Sallinger, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine President, said: “We are proud Process Group has trusted us to fulfill its piping and structural requirements on Shah Deniz 2. The selection of CADWorx 2014 Plant Professional on this significant project demonstrates Intergraph’s expertise in and commitment to the global LNG sector.”
Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis Solutions products allow design and engineering to share relevant information seamlessly, thereby maintaining accuracy and improving efficiency. These include CADWorx Plant Design Suite, for AutoCAD®-based intelligent plant design modeling, process schematics and automatic production of plant design deliverables; CADWorx DraftPro®, for intelligent 2D design and layout; CAESAR II®, the world's most widely used pipe stress analysis software; PV Elite®, for vessel and exchanger design and analysis; TANK™, for the design and analysis of oil storage tanks; and GT STRUDL®, one of the most trusted, adaptable and fully-integrated structural analysis solutions in the world.
