Hyperion delivers hydro-cracking model and reforming model to Russio refinery
Hyperion Systems Engineering (Hyperion), the leading independent solutions provider to the global process industries, announces the successful delivery of two Reactor Model systems for the Reforming and Hydro-cracking Units at OAO “Slavneft-YANOS” Refinery in Yaroslavl, Russia. The Reactor Models were delivered in partnership with KBC Hyperion’s turnkey responsibilities on the Reactor Models project included the following activities for each unit:
* Software installation and commissioning at site
* Data collection and validation.
* Model building: calibration of the models based on the real data from the actual refinery units
* Periodical model recalibrations
* Model and software maintenance
* Provision of series of trainings on Petro-SIM, AMSIM, DISTOP, and Reactor Models (REF-SIM, HCR-SIM)
* Provision of tutorials, manuals and other appropriate documentation
Hyperion and OAO “Slavneft-YANOS” have also developed an action plan that includes building a rigorous model of FCC-SIM unit, creating integration between the refinery’s planning system (PIMS) and the models, as well as other projects that will result in having an integrated refinery-wide model.
Mr. Rumyantsev, the Head of Technical Department at OAO “Slavneft-YANOS” stated, “We have been actively using the KBC reforming and hydro-cracking reactor models on the Petro-SIM Express platform for some years now, and we have been repeatedly convinced of their high quality and efficiency. With their use we were able to create accurate kinetic models of our plant units, predict their working parameters, as well as improve our production planning operations. The most significant effect results from integration with PIMS, with the generation of vectors for linear programming. We look forward to continuing the cooperation with Hyperion towards the creation of a complete integrated model for the whole Refinery.”
Mr. Victor Shkanakin, General Manager of Hyperion Systems Engineering Russia stated, “Deploying high fidelity Reactor Modeling Technology is an important component towards achieving operational excellence in petroleum refining, because they enable a refinery to improve their production planning, monitor and predict the unit performance, as well as do real-time optimization. As our many years of experience have shown, with proper support from management, using these models can help increase the profitability of a refinery. We hope we will be able to share more of our common experiences with OAO “Slavneft-YANOS” during our upcoming 3rd Technology Conference next October.”
