Mitsui Engineering receives contract from Sasol for LDPE plant in Lake Charles

Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. recently obtained a contract from Sasol North America, Inc. to provide front-end engineering and design (FEED) services for a 420,000 t/y low density polyethylene (LDPE) plant as part of Sasol’s planned world scale ethane cracker and derivatives complex to be established in Lake Charles, Louisiana in the United States of America.

ExxonMobil Chemical Technology Licensing LLC (EMCTL) has been selected by Sasol as the licensor for this LDPE project. MES has considerable experience with EMCTL’s technology, which experience contributed to the selection of MES as the FEED contractor.
