AFPM applauds house vote to approve keystone pipeline

American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) President Charles T. Drevna issued the following statement in response to the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s bipartisan approval of H.R. 3, the Northern Route Approval Act, which would eliminate a requirement that the pipeline receive a presidential permit and clear any remaining roadblocks for approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline:

“AFPM fully supports the Keystone XL Pipeline and applauds the committee on its decision.After four years of extensive study and debate, it is clear that building the pipeline would greatly benefit our nation. The Keystone XL Pipeline would strengthen our nation’s energy security by reducing our reliance on oil from unstable nations, provide significant job growth, increase local, state and federal tax revenues, and improve the economy without having any significant impact on the environment. By approving the Keystone XL Pipeline, we are putting America’s security, economy and consumers first.”
