TNK-BP to invest $7M in development of power supply at RORC

TNK-BP announces the introduction of fast-acting automatic load transfer system at Ryazan Oil Refinery Company (RORC). The overall project investment will exceed $7 mln. TNK-BP is one of the largest electric energy consumers in Russia. The Company implements a consistent power supply reliability enhancement program to achieve better operations efficiency and safety.

Introduction of the fast-acting automatic load transfer system is an integral part of the power consumption management at RORC. The project will help to avoid shutdowns of the Refinery electrical equipment in case of potential voltage dips in external and internal grids.

"Industrial safety is one of TNK-BP's main business priorities. RORC is one of the first oil refining companies in Russia to introduce the fast-acting load transfer system at its power supply facilities. The project will enhance the reliability of power supply at RORC and improve the refinery's technical sustainability and industrial safety," said RORC General Director Anatoly Skoromets.
