Jacobs receives contract from Viru Keemia Grupp
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc announced today it received a contract from Viru Keemia Grupp AS to provide a license package and services for a sulfur recovery unit (SRU). The SRU is part of VKG’s investment to upgrade its shale oil refinery complex in Kothla-Jarve, Estonia.
Officials did not disclose the contract value, however noted the services are being provided from Jacobs’ Leiden office in The Netherlands.
Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs is licensing its proprietary EUROCLAUS® technology to VKG; and is also providing the basic design package, training, start up and commissioning assistance services for the new SRU.
Jacobs Group Vice President Robert Matha stated, “As a global leader in the design of SRUs, we are delighted to receive this award, and look forward to supporting VKG on this significant shale oil project.”
Jacobs has been delivering technology for sulfur recovery and gas treating units for more then 25 years. Its proprietary technology offers a number of highly valued performance features in areas such as reliability, sulfur recovery levels, sulfur emissions reduction and simple continuous operation.
VKG is the leading oil shale processor in Estonia. The company’s activities span the entire oil shale chain, from mining and processing to the marketing of the finest chemicals.
