Johnson Matthey confirmed as CompactGTL catalyst partner
CompactGTL, the pioneer of modular gas to liquid solutions, has announced its strategic partnership with Johnson Matthey for the development, manufacture and supply of catalysts for its modular gas to liquids commercial scale plants.
The ten year agreement, signed in 2011, extends a relationship Johnson Matthey has had with the company for a number of years; most recently supplying catalysts for the CompactGTL commercial demonstration plant in Brazil, supplied to Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras).
CompactGTL recently confirmed that Petrobras had qualified and approved the technology for commercial deployment and is currently undertaking a number of project studies on behalf of international oil and gas industry clients for remote oilfields both onshore and offshore.
Nicholas Gay, Chief Executive, CompactGTL said:
“We are working with Johnson Matthey because it has the range of capabilities and breadth of experience we require to deliver the catalysts for our commercial scale modular gas to liquids solution. It is recognised as the world’s leading catalyst supplier and an innovator in coating technology and can provide us with a secure source of supply from its global operations.”
“The announcement of Johnson Matthey as our catalyst supplier is a final piece of the jigsaw for our supply chain and it joins a host of word-class suppliers including SBM Offshore, Fluor Limited and Sumitomo Corporation working with us to deliver the only modular GTL process verified and operational today.”
Bob Mannion, AMG Managing Director, Johnson Matthey, said:
“We are delighted to be extending our relationship with CompactGTL as it pioneers the development of modular GTL for use in onshore and offshore locations. This is an exciting technology that will contribute significantly to the development of hydrocarbon resources around the world.”
