Topsoe strengthens activities in China
To strengthen business in China Topsoe has restructured the organisation and Per Bakkerud has been appointed as new managing director for the subsidiary in Beijing. nIn China the industry’s demand for Topsoe’s catalysts and technologies grows, as the need for innovative and cost-efficient operation which meets the stronger environmental regulations is increasing. To support the fast-growing activities in China and request for new solutions Per Bakkerud has been appointed as managing director for Topsoe’s China subsidiary, located in Beijing. Per Bakkerud comes from a position as Vice-President for New Technologies in Topsoe, Denmark.
"We wish to further expand activities in China and introduce new technologies to the market. With Per Bakkerud’s extensive knowledge of Topsoe’s product portfolio as well as his expertise of new technologies, he will be able to introduce our latest developments on the Chinese market," says Niels Kegel Sørensen, CEO, Topsoe Group.
"We see many ways in which we can assist China in the current developments – Topsoe’s processes and catalysts can meet many of the needs of the Chinese industries. Our environmental technologies which support air cleaning hold a great potential," says Per Bakkerud.
Topsoe’s Beijing office currently counts 40 employees, and plans for expansion include a target of 50 employees by 2011, all of which will primarily serve the Chinese market.
